What if I’ve never camped before?
Don’t worry. This camp is meant to teach you all the skills you need to have a safe and comfortable adventure in the outdoors. It will be a challenge, but it will also be incredibly fun and worthwhile. We even have tons of gear like tents, rain coats, and even shoes that you can borrow!
What do I need to bring?
Well, there’s a long list of things you’ll need to bring. We’ll even make sure to send you a list of things not to bring. You’ll get an informational packet in the mail describing the trip in more detail and listing all the things you’ll need to prepare and the things you’ll need to do to get ready for a week in the wilderness. If you’re concerned about not having the right stuff, we have a closet of outdoor adventure gear – and you can borrow any of it if you need it!
Where will we be going?
For our first summer, we are going to stay close to home. The trailheads are all within a three-hour drive of Missoula. We have our sites on treks in Missoula, Powell, and Granite counties. We’ll hike in two to four miles, set up base camp, and then base all our adventures out of that base camp. We’ll try to get to some mountain streams, lakes, and even climb peaks.
Where will we shower?
Hmmmm… Well, there won’t be too many showers where we’re going. Don’t worry, there’s no need to smell great or look fresh when you’re in the wild. But we do understand that we need to maintain our hygiene. We’ll teach you how to keep yourself clean while in the backcountry while assuring that we aren’t negatively impacting our environment.
Is this a wilderness therapy program?
No, this is not a wilderness therapy program, nor are we licensed counselors or therapists. We’re simply offering girls a chance to break out from their everyday lives to go on an adventure they will never forget. We accept girls of all skill levels and backgrounds. If you have a question about girls we accept into the program, feel free to call or email us.
